Ophelia Dolls

Proud member of the British Toy Makers Guild and The Heritage Craft Association.

Hello, my name is Rachel and I'm a dollmaker, draughtsperson and, some say, a dreamer!

Your Ophelia doll is unique and handcrafted by me in Kent, England. They each have their own personality which seems to shine through as they are being made...

They are stuffed with 100% wool roving which has been locally sourced from Romney Marsh Wools along with their wool hair. I am passionate about using wool to make toys as it is warm, sustainable and naturally fire retardant amongst other things. Your doll will be traditionally jointed, using linen thread, which means they have fully posable arms and legs...they will happily sit, stand and wave (with a little help of course!).

Your doll will have removable clothing...as to be able to practise dressing and role play is important for childrens development. Young children learn best through play.

Ophelia Dolls have been tested to comply with European EN71 regulations and bear the CE mark of safety making them suitable for children and collectors alike. They have no hard parts.

They will arrive wrapped in museum quality tissue paper (specially designed to protect heirloom fabrics) all inside a beautiful Kraft presentation box.

I'd love to hear from you...whether you'd like to commission a heirloom doll or just to say hello, pop over to the contact page to get in touch.
